Michael Wilder's Bio Michael Wilder is a partner at Hayden·Wilder, and has over thirty years experience in merchandising, promotion, marketing and strategic planning in a variety of industries. His extensive background in building strong brands and managing teams of people translates to real-world expertise in guiding recent college graduates through the hurdles of a first time job search.
Michael was the Boston general manager of Eisnor Interactive (a division of Omnicom, the world's largest communications firm), which marketed on-line brands through off-line promotion and merchandising. He served as senior vice president/ director of strategic services at Miller Consulting Group, where he counseled IT clients including IBM's Personal Services Division. Prior to MCG, he was executive vice president at Arnold Communications, where he was a member of the steering committee and managed the Fleet Bank business.
Michael also served as director of investor relations/strategic planning at CML group, and was senior vice president at advertising agency Hill Holliday, where he worked with clients including: John Hancock, Liberty Mutual, Bank of New England and Fidelity Investments.
Previously, Michael was vice president of sales and marketing for Boston Whaler.
Michael guest lectures and teaches branding at several New England colleges and universities. He serves a variety of not-for-profit organizations and currently serves on the board of trustees of Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
Michael holds a B.A. from Columbia University and was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. He is an active outdoorsman and avid flyfisherman. His first job upon graduating from college was in the advertising business in New York City, where he earned $9,000 a year, with no benefits.
